Parent Partnership

We are so pleased to announce that on Friday 7th May 2021, we successfully completed the reassessment process to be awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award once again!

We have been really excited to get back to working closely with our wider families following the restrictions opposed on all of us during lockdown. Since then, we have welcomed families back into school with events such as:

  • Meet the Teacher:

These special events happen three timers per year; Autumn, Spring and Summer. The Class Teacher initially invites families into school to meet the staff team and learn more about what we do in school. In Spring and Summer, we like to have families join to take part in a range of activities some of which have included; a game of rounders, arts and crafts, a Geography lesson, a Math lesson and cookery. These are traditionally well received and attended.

  • Special Assemblies:

We have always looked forwards to the Christmas Plays which are performed by all classes at our lovely school. Both staff and pupils work incredibly hard so that all pupils contribute in some way, whether it be in the artwork and scenery, music or drama.

We also enjoy celebrating with our families at the end of the academic year and look forwards to recognising a special achievement of each child including academics, personal and social development, attendance or a unique achievement.

  • Seasonal Events:

So far this academic year, we have enjoyed celebrating Diwali and Bonfire Night with our after school family arts and crafts events. We are building excitement for the Winter Wonderland family night; with Christmas games, raffle, disco, crafts, biscuit decorating, snacks and a visit from a very special guest. There is always an end of year BBQ for children and families of leavers. This is a very special time (usually on a Saturday) to be together, looking ahead at the exciting times to come.

  • Parent Workshops:

We work closely with our families, listening to parent feedback and looking at current themes in school and the community to hold specific workshops throughout the academic year. A taster of what has been offered is parent drop in sessions with the Deputy Headteacher, anti-bullying workshop with the Senior Mental Health Lead, Little Wandle Phonics workshop, Zones of Regulation, Questions and Answer time with the Educational Psychologist to name a few.

We are happy to receive feedback from parents and carers throughout the year and welcome open communication. Please come along to any of the drop in sessions throughout the year or alternatively use the feedback area on the website or e-mail directly to admin@longfordparkschool.co.uk
